Camden Primary Careers Day 2025 – Exploring the Future at the British Library.
On Monday, 30th June 2025, our Year 4 pupils from Richard Cobden Primary School had the exciting opportunity to take part in Camden Primary Careers Day 2025, a borough-wide event organised by Camden Council, Camden Learning, and the Camden STEAM network. The event took place at the prestigious British Library in King’s Cross, London – a truly inspiring setting for young minds to begin imagining their future careers.
Our children took part in a wide variety of hands-on workshops and interactive sessions led by professionals from sectors such as medicine, architecture, urban planning, engineering, computer science, and the creative arts.
The children explored careers in medicine, learning how 3D printing is used in modern healthcare, including the creation of prosthetics and surgical models. They were introduced to an advanced robot developed by UCL London for search and rescue missions, discovering how such technology is designed, programmed, and tested to support emergency operations.
In a fascinating session led by Mace Group, pupils learned about sustainable city planning and were challenged to build their own strong and stable structures using real-world engineering principles.
During a creative workshop with UAL Central Saint Martins, the children designed and pressed their own personalised badges – a fun and expressive way to explore identity and future career paths. The day concluded with a reflection session where pupils shared their highlights and spoke with excitement about the professions that inspired them most.
It was an enriching, hands-on experience that sparked curiosity, imagination, and ambition in all our young learners.
We are incredibly proud of how our pupils engaged with curiosity, enthusiasm, and confidence – this event truly brought the world of work to life and sparked big dreams for the future!
