Composing with the Echéa Quartet – Year 5

Year 5 continue to work on a composing project with Camden Music and the Royal Academy of Music. Last term the children composed string quartets using Logic computer software and four of the children’s compositions were selected to be performed by the Echéa Quartet. The Quartet came into school today and performed the works live and asked the children for their creative input into how they wanted the pieces to be performed. Our young composers (and their peers) were delighted to hear the compositions performed live and one composer described it as a ‘breathtaking experience’. The children enjoyed giving creative feedback and performance directions to the quartet. Next week Year 5 will visit the Royal Academy of Music to hear the pieces performed live in a special concert!
