Cross country
48 children from years 3,4,5 and 6 took part in The Camden Schools Sports Association Cross Country race at Parliament Hill Fields. Our runners showed great determination and perseverance in their races which were almost a mile long and included the very steep Kite Hill! Notable performances came from Affaf (11th out of 119 runners), Kayode (23rd out of 116) and Maysa (24th out of 134). Congratulations to all of our team for their amazing efforts.
We can predict another successful year ahead as some of the older children in the school are honing their team skills. Here are just two of the extra-curricular opportunities that the children are enjoying so far:
Dodgeball
The Year 4 dodgeball team played a set of friendly matches at Talacre Sports Centre. They played very well, with the B teams winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Modina was presented with the medal for excellent sporting behaviour and a great time was had by all.
Netball
Congratulations to the Year 6 Netball A team, who won all 4 of their matches in the Camden Schools Sports Association competition at LSU School.
They are now through to the finals of the competition. Our B team also performed brilliantly, finishing 3rd in their group. They have qualified for the Plate competition.
Well done to the whole squad!
