Natural History Museum – Year 3

Year 3 visited the ‘Volcanos and Earthquakes’ exhibition at the Natural History Museum and discovered exciting artefacts included volcanic rock and a heat suit that could withstand temperatures of 1000 degrees Celsius. The earthquake simulator experience helped the children to appreciate what it feels like to be in a real earthquake! The children also attended an interactive show where they were able to use a seismometer, create a miniature earthquake and watch a model volcano erupt. The visit has provoked lots of new questions for the children to investigate in their topic lessons.
