Year 2 were very excited to be visited by a scientist from the Francis Crick Institute. The scientist helped the children to develop their knowledge and understanding of viruses. The children looked at pictures of viruses and used microscopes to examine the carpet, their clothes and their hair to see if they could spot any! They participated in an experiment to see how easily viruses can spread, with the scientist ‘sneezing’ glitter onto her hands and the children observing the glitter spread around the room as they shook hands with each other. It was a great reminder for the children to always wash their hands!
