It was 3 Rowan’s turn to visit Hampstead Heath to take part in a ‘Modern Survival’ workshop. The children imagined that they were lost in the forest and considered what the most important things needed to survive were. After agreeing that they would need shelter, food, water and fire, the children learned some of the skills needed to make these things. They built shelters using logs, tarpaulins and ropes, working as a team to make sure the shelter could house everyone. They also attempted to make a fire using cotton wool and fire steels, special sticks that make sparks. 3 Rowan really enjoyed exploring the Heath and are looking forward to their next visit!
