UCL Grant Museum of Zoology visit – 3 Rowan

3 Rowan visited the UCL Grant Museum of Zoology as part of their ‘Alive!’ topic learning. The museum is full of all sorts of animal specimens and the children thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many different creatures. The children took part in a scavenger hunt to find an animal for every letter of the alphabet. They challenged themselves to find the most unusual specimen – particular highlights included a Japanese spider crab, an elephant heart and a jar of moles! There was so much to see at the museum and the adults were impressed with the scientific questions being asked by the children. The trip provided fantastic inspiration for Year 3’s upcoming science learning, in which they will be researching the characteristics of different animals.
