As part of their topic work, 3 Rowan have been creating volcanoes using yoghurt bottles and papier maché. The children worked in pairs, using their talk skills to help decide how to construct their volcanoes. They painted them to show the grass, mountain and lava, and varnished them to make them waterproof. Once they were finished, the children put bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and red paint into the crater and watched their volcanoes erupt!
