As part of Science Week, Year 3 participated in a workshop about bones with Dr Andy from the Crick Institute. Dr Andy showed the children a human skeleton (named Bernard) and encouraged them to think about why we need bones and how bones grow. The children wanted to find out whether older people always have bigger bones than younger people, so they conducted an experiment where they measured and compared arm spans. Dr Andy had so much fun working with Year 3 that he invited them to visit him at the Crick Institute!
