Year 5’s Corn Harvest

In the summer term, our current Year 5s planted some corn in our lower garden space. They were thrilled to see that the corn plants had grown high over the summer holidays and developed some healthy ears of corn. The children learnt that the ear is the spiked part of the corn plant that contains kernels. The kernels are the delicious yellow bits we love to nibble on. The children cut the kernels off the cobs and mixed them with tomatoes, onions and herbs to make delicious lettuce leaf tacos.
