Year 6 History – WW2 Evacuees

Year 6 are learning about World War Two and the impact it had on society at the time.  They have been learning about the huge evacuation project, where millions of children were moved from the cities to safety in the countryside.   The children were given an evacuee character to role play and then moved around the room talking to other fellow evacuees to find out how it had been for them.   By the end of the lesson the children had a really good understanding of the wide variety of experiences evacuees had.
