On Monday, 30th June 2025, our Year 4 pupils from Richard Cobden Primary School had the exciting opportunity to take part in Camden Primary Careers Day 2025, a borough-wide event organised by Camden Council, Camden Learning, and the Camden STEAM network. The event took place at the prestigious British Library in King’s Cross, London – a truly inspiring setting for young minds to begin imagining their future careers.
The children were treated to a special performance of Ned's Resiliency Show!
Our Year 4 and 5 pupils gave a wonderful performance at this year’s music concert for parents, showcasing everything they’ve learned over the school year.
Our Year 1 children recently enjoyed a fantastic workshop with Kate Pankhurst, a bestselling children’s author and illustrator, best known for her books celebrating influential women in history.
Kate captivated the children with stories about the real-life heroes who inspire her writing. She spoke about her own ancestor, Emmeline Pankhurst, the famous Suffragette who led the campaign for women’s right to vote. The children were fascinated to learn how Kate uses her family history and passion for equality to create powerful books that make history exciting and accessible for young readers.
Could you survive in the wild with just your teammates, a handful of resources, and your determination? That was the challenge Year 6 Jacaranda and Iroko faced during their action-packed Survival Skills Trip to Hampstead Heath!
From the moment they "arrived on the island," the children were immersed in a thrilling scenario: a tropical storm was on the way, and they had limited time to prepare. Their mission? Work together to build shelters, make fires, and learn how to stay safe in the great outdoors using natural materials, limited resources and their wits.
Year 4 had an unforgettable experience during their recent trip to the Camden Learning Centre (CLC) in London! The day was packed with creativity, teamwork and digital discovery, all centred around the incredible world of Lego WeDo.
Children were fully immersed in building, constructing, and programming their own devices. One of the highlights was a spinning fan that not only rotated in both directions but also played music, changed light colours, and made hilarious sound effects – many of which were recorded by the pupils themselves!
Our Year 4 pupils recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to the National Gallery in London. Surrounded by masterpieces, the children explored how tessellating patterns and repeating shapes are used in classical artwork. The visit sparked thoughtful discussion and close observation as pupils studied details within the paintings.
Equipped with sketchbooks and pencils, the children had the opportunity to sit among the gallery’s rich collection and sketch elements that caught their eye. They focused on shapes, textures, and patterns, translating what they saw into their own creative designs.
Our two Year 5 classes enjoyed an inspiring educational visit to Coal Drops Yard in London, with a focus on exploring and comparing modern and historical architecture. Located next to King’s Cross Station, this unique site offers a rich environment for observation, discussion, and creative exploration.
Following 2 WIllow's fantastic performance last month, it was 2 Sycamore's turn to shine! The children have also been working with The Musicians’ Company on a fabulous composing project, based on Saint-Saëns’ 'Carnival of the Animals'. They gave a special performance for Year 3 showcasing all their hard work over the past six weeks.
This week KS2 were delighted to welcome Emma Clark and PJ Stanley for a very special performance of ‘The Shivers’, a high-octane thriller for young audiences about misinformation and learning to trust your gut. The play explored themes of trust, authority, and friendship.
