  • Author and Illustrator Workshop with Kate Pankhurst–Year 1

    Our Year 1 children recently enjoyed a fantastic workshop with Kate Pankhurst, a bestselling children’s author and illustrator, best known for her books celebrating influential women in history.

    Kate captivated the children with stories about the real-life heroes who inspire her writing. She spoke about her own ancestor, Emmeline Pankhurst, the famous Suffragette who led the campaign for women’s right to vote. The children were fascinated to learn how Kate uses her family history and passion for equality to create powerful books that make history exciting and accessible for young readers.

  • Year 6 Survival Skills Adventure on Hampstead Heath

    Could you survive in the wild with just your teammates, a handful of resources, and your determination? That was the challenge Year 6 Jacaranda and Iroko faced during their action-packed Survival Skills Trip to Hampstead Heath!

    From the moment they "arrived on the island," the children were immersed in a thrilling scenario: a tropical storm was on the way, and they had limited time to prepare. Their mission? Work together to build shelters, make fires, and learn how to stay safe in the great outdoors using natural materials, limited resources and their wits.

  • Year 4 Trip to the CLC – Lego WeDo Coding Adventure!

    Year 4 had an unforgettable experience during their recent trip to the Camden Learning Centre (CLC) in London! The day was packed with creativity, teamwork and digital discovery, all centred around the incredible world of Lego WeDo.

    Children were fully immersed in building, constructing, and programming their own devices. One of the highlights was a spinning fan that not only rotated in both directions but also played music, changed light colours, and made hilarious sound effects – many of which were recorded by the pupils themselves!

  • Year 4 Trip to the National Gallery – A Creative Day Out!

    Our Year 4 pupils recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to the National Gallery in London. Surrounded by masterpieces, the children explored how tessellating patterns and repeating shapes are used in classical artwork. The visit sparked thoughtful discussion and close observation as pupils studied details within the paintings.

    Equipped with sketchbooks and pencils, the children had the opportunity to sit among the gallery’s rich collection and sketch elements that caught their eye. They focused on shapes, textures, and patterns, translating what they saw into their own creative designs.

  • Year 5 Architecture Trip to Coal Drops Yard

    Our two Year 5 classes enjoyed an inspiring educational visit to Coal Drops Yard in London, with a focus on exploring and comparing modern and historical architecture. Located next to King’s Cross Station, this unique site offers a rich environment for observation, discussion, and creative exploration.

  • 2 Sycamore Performance

    Following 2 WIllow's fantastic performance last month, it was 2 Sycamore's turn to shine!  The children have also been working with The Musicians’ Company on a fabulous composing project, based on  Saint-Saëns’ 'Carnival of the Animals'. They gave a special performance for Year 3 showcasing all their hard work over the past six weeks.

    This week KS2 were delighted to welcome Emma Clark and PJ Stanley for a very special performance of ‘The Shivers’, a high-octane thriller for young audiences about misinformation and learning to trust your gut. The play explored themes of trust, authority, and friendship.

  • Girls Sports Festival

    30 girls from Years 4, 5 and 6 had a lot of fun at the Camden Schools Active Girls Festival at Whittington Park. The girls took part in a wide range of activities including: football, fencing, gymnastics, archery, NFL flag football, football, dance, a sports quiz, face painting.
