Year 4 Trip to the CLC – Lego WeDo Coding Adventure!

Year 4 had an unforgettable experience during their recent trip to the Camden Learning Centre (CLC) in London! The day was packed with creativity, teamwork and digital discovery, all centred around the incredible world of Lego WeDo.
Children were fully immersed in building, constructing, and programming their own devices. One of the highlights was a spinning fan that not only rotated in both directions but also played music, changed light colours, and made hilarious sound effects – many of which were recorded by the pupils themselves!
Some of our budding engineers even began preparing for a mission to Mars, designing and programming a robot that could move according to coded instructions on the Lego WeDo app.
Other exciting inventions included:
-
A space rover that could avoid obstacles using a motion sensor,
-
A dancing bird flapping its wings to the rhythm of custom-recorded tunes,
-
A rescue alarm system that lit up and made a noise whenever it detected movement.
The trip sparked endless curiosity and gave our children a real taste of how technology and creativity go hand in hand. We can’t wait to see what they build next!
